Hey Julio I'm trying to add a IMGUR short URL to my entry but your system flags the URL as spam. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Ok, I just added the IMGUR short URL as a reply, hope that counts towards the competition.

Thanks for replying again!! If not for you I wouldn't have noticed there was a mistake on user permissions for registered users that were confirmed (not newly registered), so many TS regulars probably got the same error message.

When I was young and just starting my work in the electronics field, my boss gave me a bit of advice for when I could not find the solution to a problem. He said: "when you get tired looking for the Sublime, look then to the ridiculous." Well, that worked well over many years. However, what the never mentioned was how to cope with a problem when you had no money for what 'might' work, and were working with an item that was obsolete in the minds of the 'Sublime' thinking of the day. All these 'Giveaways' mean nothing to me when I have what is considered to be obsolete, and have gotten to the point where the costs of anything greatly exceed my SS income. To even attempt to enter into such contests as this would only serve to elicit laughter from those trying to decide a winner, and consider it a total waste of time. I have found ever since I became an old Senior that I can waste too much time on things where I may not have much time remaining.

Before or after uploading to Imgur? Maybe their compression is harsh but at least works unlike our own forum's upload tool which got overwhelmed rather easily

Yeah compressions likely the issue , but I have also heard tales of the S7s camera having some ... oddities when it comes to picture quality (Same can be said of some other S Galaxys like the S4)

Does the $500 limit take into account the inflated prices in AU? Upgrades might be hampered by the higher prices of components in Australia.

Then again, I think the winners will most likely be in US. Good lucky fellow techies. Any other fellow Aussies here?

Works like a charm now

Thanks

We do take that into consideration, otherwise going over budget would be overkill and that's the main reason we've kept season 1 to only a handful of countries, so we can make sure we can buy the hardware for the winner and that prices more or less reflect the market.

As for AU vs. US, last night we narrowed down the first 5 PCs for episode 1 and two are AU based, just based on the quality of the submissions, not geo location. It should be said however, that there are still many great entries that will make it to the series in later episodes, we're still going through the hundreds of submissions.

I need help submitting my entry cause whenever I try to submit I get an error that says "please enter a value using 100 characters or fewer." I don't know what part of the forum that needs to have 100 characters or fewer. is it where I talk about the history of my computer? other information that might be helpful?

I've been trying to figure this one out, no real fix yet as it seems to be limited to you at the moment (or other users who didn't report it and just left). Looking at troubleshooting Xenforo the main reason this happens is a title that is too long (subject of a new thread or submission) or when you attach a file with a filename that is excessively long.

My suggestion for now would be to submit your entry with a condensed version of the text and once the post is live you can edit it or reply to it with more information.

Is there a way to know if your submission has been reviewed or not? I'm not how to improve the quality of my submission.

yeah it seemed like it was the title. I dont know how but I guessed my keyboard might've glitched out and was typing in the title when it was supposed to be in "give us the history of your pc"

I love the idea. Won't participate, but it's cool, and it was nice to be introduced to Hardware Unboxed. I enjoyed the little I saw of Steve's work there.
