Apple has officially reopened all of its US store locations

In brief: When the Covid-19 pandemic first struck, tech companies were forced to close most of their physical retail shops, provided they weren't considered essential. Apple was hit particularly hard by these closures: it temporarily shut down a whopping 270 locations throughout the US. However, as the world begins to recover from and vaccinate against the virus, Apple has been able to return to normalcy.

As of writing, the company has fully reopened all of its US locations. Obviously, Apple is still being careful. Many locations -- particularly those in highly-populated areas -- are still employing some restrictions and Covid-19 protection strategies.

For example, some locations require customers to make an appointment before entering the store or only offer pre-arranged product pick-ups. Neither of those options is ideal, given the walk-in shopping experience Apple Stores previously boasted, but they're certainly better than nothing.

All things considered, it's somewhat impressive that Apple has recovered as fast as it has. Its US stores haven't been universally open since March of last year, but that still means the company took just under a year to get back on its feet (not that it's ever necessarily been at risk of collapsing).

If you were itching to walk back into your local Apple store throughout 2020, you might finally be able to now -- just be sure to bring your mask.

Apple fanboy philosophy - death from virus is nothing next to being deprived of getting a new Apple toy. Also, Apple zombies are known to rise on any occasion.

"Apple is tired of being dead-last :d in introduction new features, and wants to bring you Herd Immunity - 6 months earlier than the fastest vaccine!"

Only at your local Locaal Apple Deathtrap!

Is this because the pandemic is over in the US! Stupid is as stupid does.
The government tells you that the current average of 1,500 daily death is actually nothing to sneeze about. And Apple tells you they want you to cough up some dough on their new white shiny toys. So it goes around. Capitalism versus common sense - the former will always prevail.

Finally, our local shrines to our Lord Steve Jobs and the cult of Apple are open again!

Praise him!!

/s in case is needed.

Common sense has us opening up now. Unless you are dumb enough to believe this virus will eventually disappear if we all stay at home for months/years.

Common sense tells us that no matter how long we stay locked down for the virus will still be waiting for us when we emerge.

Common sense tells us that staying locked in your own home for years on end is far worse for your health than the risk of a virus than a less than 1% death rate.

And already as moronic states open up the death and infection rates are already climbing again, now 2000 deaths a day. Australia has had a total of 909 deaths since March 2020. America's infection rate is nearly 100 times higher per capita.

No... desperation has people opening up now... Common sense would dictate waiting until the vast majority of the public was vaccinated...

No, staying locked down doesn't make a virus disappear - but if you get vaccinated while you are in lockdown, when you finally DO come out of lockdown, you are far safer...

Instead, we'll see cases rise, infection and death rates rise... and possibly new variants mutate (because the more cases, the more mutations) that prove resistant or even immune to our vaccines...

Rubbish. Common sense says that you only need the most vulnerable vaccinated and in the US most of them are by now.

It is cowardly, stupid and dangerous to continue to keep people locked up now.

Oh and the virus will mutate. The vaccines will soon be useless. We either choose to live with covid or lockdown forever. Common says tells us that it’s not reasonable to lockdown for years and years etc.

No matter what the human race does we will have the risk of catching and dying from covid.

Really? How so? The vaccines are MRNA based - so they can be "tinkered with" to provide protection from mutations - provided they don't mutate too fast and frequently - which will only happen if cases grow exponentially... which we're begging for by ending our lockdowns...

And living with Covid NOW is very different than living with Covid in 6 months or so.... I'd rather "live with it" then - when hopefully everyone is vaccinated!

It's COWARDLY to hide behind the "only old people die from it - so let's just protect them" excuse... while old people are MOSTLY the only ones who die from it... guess who they catch it from?

Maybe we should show a bit of COURAGE and sacrifice a few more months in order to make sure we're ALL safe... because while old people do the majority of the dying, it still REALLY SUCKS to catch Covid even if you're young...

It is desperate and cowardly to continue to force other people to stay at home with the evidence we have. Hospitalisations are already coming down. In fact there is little evidence that lockdowns ever even worked in the first place. Certainly in the U.K. the highest infection rates occurred weeks into the lockdowns we had.

If you want to lock yourself up indefinitely then go ahead. In fact I encourage it. But please don’t force your cowardice on me. I am going to live my life again and I’m not letting the meek stop me.

The scientists in the U.K. have announced an end to all restrictions by June 21st. And some retail to open up in a couple of weeks. They 100% know more than you. And they are also taking into account the damage that lockdowns do to people’s health. Il listen to them then the cowardly whining of some randomer on the Internet.

What "evidence"???

Almost all of the evidence that is available shows cases increasing in countries that aren't in lockdown.

And there is PLENTY of evidence that lockdowns work. I strongly suggest you read this man's newsletters.
He is an infectious disease specialist - but he writes really well and gives raw data. You can draw your own conclusions that way.

Each country, unfortunately, is run by politicians who really want to be reelected... so they tend to do what is popular, not what is necessary.

Some countries do the right thing though... notice how Japan has stated that the Olympics (which start after June 21st) will not be open to worldwide fans... do you think they'd sacrifice the revenue from this if they didn't think it was necessary?

Normally, one doesn't need to "force" one's opinions on others... for instance, if you want to believe in an almighty God and I don't, it's no skin off my back.... same with same sex marriage, etc...

But there ARE some things that require force... because the people who think "everything's fine now" will be carriers of Covid... and get other people sick... and more people will die UNNECESSARILY.
