Apple unveils new $399 iPhone SE: A13 Bionic SoC, single rear camera, and more

Looks like an old school iphone which is generations behind competitors. The viewing area must be 60 %. 400 $ is too much.

Now I have to choose between one plus 8 and this
I've also made a decision to go for one plus (7t) while also looking for iPhone 11 and boy, do I not regret! The speed one plus gives is so good! the 90hz is something of this world, and hear me out, the software is beautiful!" so minimal... I0d easily recommend one plus line of phones.

My friend is still using his IPhone 6, so they finaly released something he can upgrade on and not lose form factor he's used to.
He pissed he won't have a headphone jack, but who can blame him, especialy when Apple has the worst wireless audio implementation on the market.

I HATE Apple.
I HATE the lack of headphone jack.
BUT:
5 years support for a device which has a pricetag of < 500 Euros?! That's unheard of. I had four LG's now and neither had decent support. Following the removal of the headphone jack from Samsung, I'll never buy any phone from them...
Honestly, if it had a heaphone jack, I'd jump the boat...
I was upset about the headphone jack too. Having used an iphone without for a few years now, I can tell I don't miss the jack at all.

As someone that has only ever had android phones, this new iphone makes me want to try using a iOS device. But what kills it for me is lack of USB-C.... Come on apple, USB C is a standard. Everything uses it now. This should have been the year they rolled out USB C on all their new iphones.

The phone is a win otherwise. Probably the best entry level phone for the cost.

The One Plus 7t is a great phone too, but it cost more. But might just be my next phone. They don't have the bloat that slows down samsung phones.

Unfortunately I don't think USB-C will come to iPhones anytime soon because of 2 things:

A raft of existing Lightning devices would suddenly become obsolete.
The Lightning market is big enough to be a second self-sufficient standard.

However, Apple has proven it *can* do this when they moved from the 30-pin connector to Lightning. Hell, if any company has proven itself capable of replacing one standard with another, Apple has done so repeatedly and with a minimal financial penalty, if any.

I like Apple products and you like Android-Samsung -- who cares. Just another Ford vs Chev argument -- sigh

Is appealing, especially for the a13 cpu. This CPU/SOC? is harnessing 8 billion transistors (at least on the flagship supposedly it does). For a chip of this type... AFAIK AMD ryzen 9 3900 is a "silicon that sports ~9.89 billion transistors."
Just for the measure.

Now, the phone might've been even more appealing sporting some AMOLED and high ppi density, but yet again, overall is packing quite the value. The camera seems very good. The fact that the software has metal developer support, is also good... It would be interesting to see a benchmark of the CPU, as on the flagship it was a beast. For those who read books on the phone, Is recommended AMOLED dark mode and higher crispy resolution as the font looks neat.
