Apple's shiny new iPad Pro has set a new low for durability

Yes, Apple is! I'm glad you said that. Oh wait, that is not what you said. Why did you say that? Maybe you like buying products that are bent straight out the box. I get what you are saying in general. I'm one of those people that hates Apple. But in this case Apple made it easy for us. When Apple customers are complaining, we are somewhat justified. And in this day and age, it is not just Apple. It is all of them.

Bent out of the box?

I don't believe that even for a second.

It's ok to love your Apple devices but I have a Nexus 7 2013 edition that I put in my pocket daily. It's a little warped after 5 years but still in one piece. From this demonstration I would hazard a guess if it was this iPad it would have broken in my pocket on the first day. This is the difference between something made to be used as a tablet and something that's not.

sorry, but you are wrong. Do some research, it's a problem as is bending under use. Under 'trending threads' on MacRumors is "New iPad Pro Models May Be Prone to Bending". Many think the cutout in the aluminum frame for the pencil magnet makes the case very weak in that central spot (if you look at the photo's there is practically no frame there) so when any pressure is put on it, that very weak spot essentially allows it to fold in the same manner as a piece of cardboard.

and for the second time, from the article "What’s worse is that a lot of users are reporting that theirs were bent straight out of the box - and some users even found that their replacements were bent, too."
edit: just look at the photo for the YouTube video at the top of this article, where is it bent? Right where the pencil attaches. It's an obvious weak point.

They are trying to live up to the reputation of "Made in China." Having the label "Made in China" and having good quality is false advertisement.

My parents have some ancient Lenovo Android crap and if I want I can snap it with ease.
The point is that we expect more from Apple products. And we pay more for that expectation.
It's pretty obvious that you have NEVER purchased ANY Lenovo products or you would know that they're just as pricey as an Apple product. And if you put that kind of pressure on something you just paid $800 for then you're obviously some special kind of stupid.

APPLE'S Answer: If the ipad is bent just buy another one and glue it to the opposite side of the bad one and now you will have a straight ipad with two screens!

It isn't that hard to engineer a strong device, this is unacceptable. My opinions of apple company policy completely aside on this one, for the price of the iPad pro and the amount of R&D dollars Apple has available to them, this is simply inexcusable.

I don't care if it is Samsung, Microsoft or any other company, an entire team of people should be fired for putting a product like this on the market. When you spend a certain amount of money there is a certain quality level to be expected with that price point.

If this was the tablet I bought at Walmart for $60, fine. Heck, I spend more than that in a night at the bar! But the idea that I'm paying $800+ for a device that will break if my dog steps on it is absurd
SJ is turning in his grave (as the old saying goes).
