Asus K8N-E Deluxe help - no audio

I recently built myself a new computer. It is the first one that I have built. Everything is working wonderfully...except that audio options are not recognized. The mother board has a surround sound feature, so I'm pretty sure that I don't need to buy a sound card. What's the deal?

Is on board audio enabled in your BIOS ?
Did you load drivers and software for Audio from Mb installation disk?
Are there any error messages?
Are there any items listed in Device manager for audio?
yellow exclamation marks mean improper driver install.

Stupid newbie

I found the proper driver. That is all that it took. Maybe I lost the cd somehow, but I couldn't find the driver cd anywhere...that's weird. Thanks.

Well, I'm having the same problem with an Asus K8N. No matter what driver I load, I still can't get any sound. And that's trying WINXP SP2 as well as WIN2K with SP4. It says no sound device.

GOT IT GOING!!

Finally found the BIOS setting that was disabling the sound. IT WORKS!

At least in XP. I'm getting ready to try it in 2K now.
