Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
I have an old Asus P4C800-E Deluxe mobo that I put in a case about three years ago. Plugged in 1.0 GB of DDR and an Intel P4 3.0Ghz.C.P.U.
NVidia video etc.
The computer ran with no problems at all until this:
I had a home fire on Jan. 3, 2007 - The items in my home we not subjected to heat. The main damage was caused by water.
Where I had the computer, it seems to me that I was very lucky there were no signs of any damage.
About a month later my HDD was giving me warning it was going to fry.
I bought Acronis True Image and mirrored the "Old" HDD to the "New" HDD.
Eventually the old HDD toasted.
I have two things that I can not understand or know what to do about.
(1) When I first boot the computer at the beginning of the day, it goes through it's usual process but for month's now I get a message NEW CPU INSTALLED !! Run Setup to configure.
I went through the entire BIOS and set everything the way it should be.
It got to the point now that all I do when I get this message is tab over to exit <Save> <O.K.> where NO change were made. The computer boots fine .. no problems.
(2) Now and then I find that the BIOS has completely changed to default settings and I have to go in a change these settings.
Could one of you "Pro's" fill me in on what the problem may be ?
Any information will be appreciated.
Thank you.
RickM
