Bombshell at Panasonic: 'resolution doesn't matter, it's all about the colour'

"Resolution is actually the fourth and least important of the big four image parameters," declared TV calibration guru Joel Silver.

"The single most apparent thing you see in an image isn't detail but dynamic range, followed by colour saturation and fidelity. If fleshtones are off or there's even a hint of a greenish cast in yellows, images have no chance of looking lifelike. These factors make or break TV images."

Then why did Panasonic stop making plasma? LCD technology is not suitable for this end-goal.

I guess it's going to be pretty interesting because they have tough competitors in samsung and sony who have different objectives than panasonic. I think it's cool we'll be able to chose based on what we appreciate more in a tv :)

Hah, yea that's pretty interesting.
This would have made allot more sense to say when they where still selling plasma TV's ;)
