The boot log file gets over written
Sorry, yes, of course it does. Boot log is a record for the steps taken on boot up.
This is not OS, but a record of boot.
Your drive has Win7 configured for your old motherboard. It won't work well with your new motherboard because it is configured for the old one.
You need to install OS freshly on bootable media and this includes many steps...locate and download your motherboard manual.
I'm going to try and download and install the drivers for my cpu
Please locate, download and read the manual for the new motherboard.
I'm just going to install Ubuntu
Would that fix it?
Hi @Cycloid Torus . I'm going to get out of your way. You may still be able to get W10 free.
You need to backup your sh*t. gl
Windows or Linux should work from an ISO to install OS. Trying to use drive from a different system is likely issue.
Keep us posted.
Would I be able to use a different cpu after installing the windows 10
I'm not sure what your asking. Here's a MS link about changing the Mother Board. Let's see what @Cycloid Torus has to say.
Good luck! Let us know how things go.
Niot quite sure about your question... do you want to know if you can install a faster cpu with more cores? Usually, yes. Must match socket and be on the motherboard manufacturer's list (QVL) - otherwise no guaranty. Also, check for BIOS upgrades. You may have to update while still using old CPU if it will not run with the new chip until updated.
I found the windows key so I'm going to re install it.
Hi! You can find all the Windows ISO files here.
Yay it works
Yea! W7 or W10?? https://www.techspot.com/article/1300-windows-10-free-upgrade-loopholes/
