So I opted for onboard sound for the lady.
I connected the computer's REAR OUT to the receiver's Game/Aux IN via a mini stereo headphone to stereo rca's goldplated cable from Radio Shack. I'm getting a sound from the speakers that she describes as a "mind numbing buzz," anytime the receiver is set to Game/Aux.
I've seen answers for those experiencing similar problems with their stand-alone sound cards, but no answers for the stressed out parents of AC'97s.
Please help.
