Cadec Problem

I have a Nikkon camera. Have had problems with SD cards that I used in another camera working in this camera. So I bought a brand new SD card. It gives me the same message, that Memory Car is write protected...There is nothing on the SD card...WTH? How do I get my camera to accept it?

The camera would not let me format...I tried. After reading some posts about maybe putting tape over a notch in the adapter, I took out the adapter. There were 2 slots...one small, one long. I started looking at the adapter as I KNOW I have used SD cards in the camera before. But this micro did not have an adapter with it. The adapter was from my old Laptop...Toshiba was on the adapter. I found another adapter, and put the Micro in it. The camera let me use the SD card. But thank you for answering..have had problems getting people to answer my questions on other forums.
