I have a Dell Dimension 4300S and an extra P4 2.8. The dell has some FOXCONN mobo in it and it does have the extra 4 pin plug on it. The Dell currently has a P4 1.8 in it. What can i do to find out if it will work? Is there a program i could run or should i simply put it in?

Thanks

Looks like you can stick any Socket 478 - Willamette, Northwood(?), 400 MHz bus cpu in there.

If your P4 is a northwood or willamette, it should work, but if it is the prescott, you may be screwed....

it is a prescot i think. oh well.
do you happen to know how to recover a DFI INFINITY board from a bad BIOS flash? (Award BIOS)

Several ways..

Order a new BIOS chip online (the easy way).
Hot-flash your BIOS in another identical mobo (the crazy way).
Write the correct BIOS uusing an EEPROM programming device (the geeky way).
