Best processor for what use? AMD is better for some installations. Intel is better for others. Of course, cost must be factored in, and the equipment which is needed... There will perhaps never be a "...once and for all..." answer.
Intel, right now, is a better gaming processor.

There is no correct answer here. It's a matter of opinion. AMD and Intel have been fluctuating for years, one of them will lead for a bit, then the other will lead. Please don't ask about this kind of issue :( It tends to lead to flame wars.

best processor? that depends on what you mean by "best"... if you're simply asking which company makes the fastest processor, then the answer is... neither... IBM makes the fastest processor... period ;)

When i say ''BEST'' in a Overall basis.

    Price not included
(if you want the good stuff , you'd better have the money to pay for it)

    I'm talking speed , durability , quality , innovative developments ...

i simply would like to know which one is closer to the finish line.

    the best?

Depends whether you want the history or the here and now... A year or so ago AMD was the top of the speed game. At the moment and probably for a little while,ie. a year min,, unless AMD pulls out some secret magic then Intel is definately the best. Speed, reliability and innovation
