Can the iMac Pro 2017 really support 4 External 4K displays besides the original iMac Monitor?

Apple's Support page says that the iMac Pro 2017 can support 4 external 4K displays, but in order to do so I'll have to connect the external displays to the Thunderbolt 3 ports via an adapter. Although thats whats it says on the page..I wanted some confirmartion from u guys on whether I really can connect FOUR external 4K displays to the iMAc...I mean...is the GPU of the iMac Pro really that powerful..??

IMO, that says they are not connected to the GPU and thus Mirror / Extend would not work for those with this connection type.

To be honest, the spec sheet reads

  • Four 3840-by-2160 (4K UHD) external displays at 60Hz with support for 1 billion colors, or
  • Four 4096‑by‑2304 (4K) external displays at 60Hz with support for millions of colors
  • Support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes
  • Thunderbolt 3 digital video output
  • Native DisplayPort output over USB-C
