Canada-US border crossed by man using iPad as ID

A Canadian man who forgot his passport has said that he managed to cross the border into the US using a copy of the document he had scanned on to his iPad.

Martin Reisch, from Montreal, presented the US border office with his digital device after realising near the border that he did not have his passport.


Not a bad idea at all I must say, but instead of an ipad I'd rather prefer to have a much smaller device for this purpose.

Don't they stamp passports or is that just in the movies?

It depends on the country. They stamped mine in England and France, however when I went from France to Switzerland and back, they just looked at it and let us through.
