I know not alot of you may know what I'm talking about, but I'm trying to Connect to a VNC Server on my home desktop from my laptop. It's worked before, but recently I had to reformat my desktop. I have the server setup, and on port 5900, and configured my Linksys router WRT54GS exactly like it shows on portforward.com. The desktop is XP home edition service pack1, and my laptop is xp professional service pack 2. I opened the port on my firewall, and turned the firewall off, and it still doesn't work. I'm putting in the local ip addressess, and I tried the external, but neither works, and its starting to anger me a little bit.

If anyone could shed some knowledge, which I doubt, please do so.

Good news

I can ping my socks proxy server from work, which means that I do have a possibility to connect to it, but bad news is I don't seem to connect to it using Socks cap v2. It must be from the server side to where the problems lies. Any advice could be very helpful. Also, I'm doing it through a proxy server through port 22, just in case there might be a problem there.
