civilization 4 LAN error.......

HELP!!! i cannot create a new game for the LAN... it gives me a network socket error... but i can access the other PC to my LAN... i also notice theres a limited or no conectivity status near my LAN icon.... n when i try to repair the connection it failed..... :hotbounce strangely,the error soesn't appear on the other PC but it to can't repair its connection... by da way both r using windows XP services pack 2....
