Compute freezing on start up blue screen too

Help>>>>My PC keeps Freezing.....
I have had issues recently wher my pc is freezing during start up. along with the occasional blue screeen with numerous errors (cant remember them all) at the same time. it is taking 3 or 4 attempts then to actually get it to work. i have checked all the drivers are up to date. no conficts, full defrag of drives. sometimes while using the pc it will crash with a blue screen. im stuck for ideas.

i suppose any tech wizz would like to know what im running
windows vista premium on an acer aspire m1800 intel core2 duo cpu e7400processor
4gb ram
all software is genuine
have a HP monitor 2009f with nvidia graphics

Can someone give me some advise on where to go or what to do

Hi Mark, Now my first question would be where does it freeze from, is it at the windows logo or the welcome screen?
however i think first make sure you upload the mini dumps and then someone will read them and give you an answer, am think it could be a hotfix that the machine could have downloaded when updating.
so i would go in for a windows upgrade, say like win7, it can handle such issues.
