Congress wants to limit your social media time by law

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Therefore: If I wanna sit up on Facebook or Youtube or Twitter talking **** all night long...guess who's job IT'S NOT to stop me???

"Things like infinite scrolling, engagement rewards, and auto-playing or auto-loading content that is not a function of the service would be banned from social media platforms. It also stipulates that icons used for accepting or declining agreements would have to be uniform — using the same font, size, and shape of buttons."

I agree with all of this. I'm not so sure about time limits, however, esp. a 30 minute per site one. It takes me that long to compose a post sometimes. Also agree with the reclassification of social media to publishers. They make money off their content, virtually all of which is generated by their "clients". They de-monetize or censor that content as they see fit. That's not a technical function like blocking spammers but rather an arbitrary judgement.

Ah, oh, "The land of the Free". Be that for me, or only for thee? Best not forget the Pilgrim Fathers came to the US because they couldn't get away with their narrow-minded bigotry in the UK. Old habits die hard? You bet-ya.
Argues against narrow-minded bigotry with narrow-minded bigotry. Still has no clue what happened other than what's in the books. Surely, they left things out.

The headline:
"Congress wants to limit your social media time by law"
The opening statement:
"Congress is considering a bill that will restrict the way that social media companies can manipulate us."

These are vastly different things and you know it. What a shitty clickbait headline.
I see this all time on here. I like this channel. If you don't like what is posted why heck do come here. It is like I hate to drink alcohol. Why the hell are you in a bar?
What you did is called a false equivalency. If a journalist is manipulating titles(which they did) to get more clicks then they deserve to be called out on it. This is called journalistic integrity.
woh woh there, you mean to tell me journalist still have integrity ? #shocked

A lot of energy spent in Congress on little crap. Fix the big stuff please. On the positive side, would it stop Trump from messing on Twitter?

Of course they did. Oldest, & possibly only truth in history is it's ALWAYS written by the winner, up until FB & Twitter!

Wakey wakey... this is censorship in disguise. We are powerful when we unite en masse on social media and the deep state is losing its edge as we expose their lies and propaganda.

I think it might be more the NSA wants to reduce its monitoring task - less tweets more eats.
