Connecting Guitar to Juli@

*This is not a tutorial, it's a question*
Hi, I've bought this soundcard called Juli@ from ESI. It has L/R in and LR out on it, it can change between 1/4'' and 1/8'' by kind of taking the card apart and turn it around.
My question, as the subject states, is how do I connect a guitar to this? I have connected my guitar to either L or R in with Cubase LE opened, no reaction, no sound no nothing. I obviously must be doing something wrong.

It is an audio interface card. Have you configured it through software? Are you using it in balanced or unbalanced mode? What operating system are you using?

Well the thing is, I don't know how to. Im running on XP and Im using the balanced input (simply cause that matches my guitars jack-wire) I plug it in the Line In L hole on the back of my computer, open cubase, and press record and nothing happens. I go into juli@ pan and set input to left. But really, I don't know what I'm doing here.
