Cookies issues

I'm having a problem..Generally when there's a link I haven't visited it's red or white, after I click on the link the link turns purple which means I've already clicked on the link. My problem is my links stay the same color after I click them and don't turn purple which leaves me not knowing if I have visited the link or not. I went to Internet options and my cookies are enabled, so I have no idea what the problem is, can anybody please help? Thank You..
