Hi,

i recently purchased new motherboard, cpu, ram

asus M4A88T-M usb 3.0

amd phenom x2 550

x2 2 gig rams kingston

the cpu was coming in at 3.1 ghz but i used the "core unlocker" feature and now its at 3.7 ghz, what i would like to know is it actually just Overclocking it or not.

how will this affect the lifespan of the parts?

thanks.

Something is wrong here...
Unless I misunderstood, the core unlocker should attempt to unlock core...as per the name.
There should be no changes in clockrate.

Watch your temps, and it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi,

so i figured out that the "Auto Tune" program is over clocking the cpu, and i dont think the "core unlocker" wants to play nice so its turned off now., but im leaving the cpu over clocked.

'speed fan" has temp1 (im guessing motherboard) @ 34c although i think its abit higher when i checked in the bios was around 36c
core @ 38c
gpu @ 38c
