Inactive CPU has been taken over can't do anything with it

Hi, I am using my laptop to write this, my cpu has a windows security alert, and a antivirus software keeps scanning. but its not my software. i tried to remove it will a malware removal and I thought it worked until today it took over everything, I can not open the internet get into my email system or access anything else on the computer. but the internet pops up with viagrara commercials or now porn sites. We have never had such problems and I am frustratred trying to handle this.

what can i do? thanks for your help

Hi do you know what CPU means?
Either way, doesn't matter thats not the real problem here.

Please run the UPDATED 8-step Viruses/Spyware/Malware Preliminary Removal Instructions.
If you cannot download the programs off the internet on the affected computer, then you should download the installers on to any removable media and install from there, but don't use the media afterwards, it may have been infected and you don't want to transfer it.

thanks. I found a site that gave me instructions how to remove it from the Start, Run, then i was able to go into the safe mode finally and then ran a legit scan and had the stuff removed. or so it seems. the computer is running fine now. I thought CPU stood for the home computer that sits under my desk, not my laptop. sorry if I used the incorrect term. I am a nurse not a computer person. Please forgive. me
