hello everyone, I have a small issue. I have a balistix tracer from crucial. it is pc 4000, 1GB DDR500, In the bios I want the memory clock to run at 400. That is the highest for the board. So I did and it will not go higher than 200. after I changed it to 400, it is still at 200mhz, showing in the memory clock. so is my ram not compatible, is the ram damaged, or are my settings not set right.
thanks rebs51

It's DDR ram which stands for double data rate. When operating at 200MHz, it's as effective as running at 400MHz since it can use the rising & lowering part of the clock cycle to transfer data.

It's sold as 400, as it's a bigger number & people like big numbers but it's supposed to run at 200MHz so there's nothing wrong there.

ahhh, thank you very much. I looked in my bios book, and it said 400hrz sio I thought something was wrong. Only thing it has been sluggish so I thought maybe next I should flash my bios, will this help?
thanks rebs51
