Dead Space 2 Steam serial not working...?

Hey I recently bought Dead Space 1&2 through steam, and for w.e reason it says my serial is invalid. Any ideas? (Only in Dead Space 2)

Seems like a widespread problem but in a post today (page 7, post #100), a Valve employee says the issue should be resolved. Any luck?
