Death Stranding Review

That "review" gave me a headache - I couldn't finish it. Seems like the writer was more interested in talking about philosophy than the game.

IMO Kotaku doesn't do reviews. They don't really come to any overall conclusions on the games they play. They are more like diatribes TBH.

I watched a review to see what all the hype was about, and I'm watching daryl do a little walking, and wtf how many cases does dude have on his back?! Why do you you have to keep him balanced with trigger buttons when it's so easy for him to fall and you have to walk so damn far, uphill, over rocks and then down steep hills?! Why is this a thing?!

I guess I'm not artsy enough to like such an odd game.

Pretty much as I predicted, No Man Sky v 2.

No Man's Sky but 70 hours of carrying garbage from A to B. NMS isn't a shining example of a good game, but at least it had some gameplay beyond fetch quests masquerading as some deep esoteric gameplay mechanic.

What is TechSpot's relationship with Kotaku?

I was asking the same. Why are they posting another site's review on theirs?

I didn't get the review, prefer mine straight and to the point. It was just rambling about the game, is that what reviews have degenerated to? Should be titled " Death Stranding; philosophical treatise" instead of review. I'm sure there are people that like that stuff, just don't call it a review.

Went elsewhere for a 7 minute review, instead of the thesis plastered here.

1 - Essentially, the player is like an Amazon / UPS delivery person on foot, carrying a ludicrous amount of packages to be delivered over all kinds of terrain. Sounds really exciting...

2 - I guess the cartoonish third-person perspective (which I hate with a vengeance) is essential here...so one could appreciate / admire the stupendous amount of boxes stacked on the poor player's back!!

Thanks, I will pass on this gem of a game.....

The fact that they have one period is the main problem. I find it very hard to believe TechSpot is incapable of having a dedicated game reviewer of their own. If I wanted to read Kotaku garbage, I'd go to their site.

So I'm waiting for the store to open so I can pay off my copy of D's. I had a hour I started reading this review and poof stores open. I enjoyed your review and I feel you did a good job of explain
