Dell Inspiron keyboard freezes

My Dell inspironn keyboard froze after running combofix antivirus... after i reboot and i type one letter on the keyboard, my mouse and keyboard freezes.. mouse works fine before the keyboard type...Dell do not seem to have the driver for the laptop keyboard..

i have windows Xp model... help...

does it work when you tap F8 on power up!

yes it responds to f8. But problem persists in safe mode as well
