Dell optiplex drive boot problems

my dell optiplex gx270 series desktop computer does not boot up all the way. It loads up the dell screen then the following error message appears on a black screen.

"Sata primary drive 0 not found
secondary drive 1 not found
strike f1 key to continue or f2 to run setup utility"

Sounds like it's not finding anything to boot off of. Either your OS/bootloader is botched or your HDD has died. Can you see the drive in the BIOS?
