Doomsday clock remains 100 seconds from midnight, the closest we've been to an apocalypse

Why the personal disdain? Seems like you and that other fellow assume I am an ideologue and on the right. I am not a partisan or an ideologue. I feel no connection to either party and don't align exactly with any of the ideological labels like conservative, liberal, progressive, moderate, etc. Like most people. I call out 1 side more because they have the voice and the presence and dominate every aspect of public life and politics in America. As they have for decades. The other side as a whole I don't think I actually even know, only the internet memes and stereotypes. In my life I just know people. Individuals. For the majority of my life I never thought in terms of any labels and saw the world as a sea of singularly unique individuals. Ultimately my perspective is that there are no good guys. It's just a bunch of baddies fighting for supremacy and as to the proposition of choosing a side I say, no thanks. I'd rather go it alone.

PEnn has to put everyone Right of himself in the same basket as the morons that stormed the Capitol building because he's simple. It would be tantamount to me calling all Leftists Communist thugs, arsonists, and rioters who want to defund the police, destroy businesses, and break into shops to steal stuff.

The paradigm is a lie to enslave the hearts and minds of the willing and unwitting. There is no right or left and the monoliths are false idols. Just because so many people subjugate themselves to these labels does not make the labels valid. Neither does it make those individuals invalid. Just lost.

Says someone who sounds like they believe that Trump won the election, and would have supported a wannabe dictator, thus ending any semblance of democracy in the us.

We get you support such. And you would have been happy if the crazy-a$$ mob in DC had executed Pelosi, Schumer, and Pence. Talk about people who would have it only their way if they were in power.

I wish you'd stop referring to America as a democracy we are a constitutional federal republic we never have been a democracy and God willing we never will be. Democracy is another word for tyranny of the majority or mob rule. As for executing members of congress, honestly their isn't a single government official Id protect, out right kill no, but I sure as hell would understand why someone would want to. Each of them has become millionaires thanks to being bought by lobbyists, not a single person in government actually represents the people.

That's a denial that distinct ideologies have existed, do exist, and always will exist and, for whatever reason, people *choose* to align with them. For me, I would describe my politics as Libertarian and my broader philosophy as Objectivist because I agree with principles underlying either. I like those labels. I mean, if the shoe fits, right? There is a Right and a Left, just as there is a South Korea and a North Korea, just as there was an West Germany and an East Germany, or U.S. vs (what was) the USSR, or Allied powers vs Axis powers, capitalism and socialism, individual liberty versus slavery, etc. No false idols. People choose to align with distinct sets of ideas, or a mixture, but they have very different outcomes when acted upon.

Monoliths are representative tokens, not manifest truths. A person can choose to believe they are anything they want, hence the emergence and growth of the lqbtq movement. Ideologies are just ideas and ideas in and of themselves are existentially insubstantial. The only relevance they have is when a person or group with power to affect the world around them, embrace them and are driven by them.

Of course a person can choose to believe they are anything they want, but nobody subscribes to a philosophy or religion to do nothing with it. Who does that? Hence, ideologies should be questioned and critiqued, and the results from applying them remembered, else we have no guide with which to determine what assists human flourishing or is harmful to it.

I'm surprised any self-respecting scientist would want to be associated with the so-called "Doomsday Clock" being that it has *always* been a grossly unscientific indicator of our proximity to nuclear Armageddon.

"a vivid illustration that national governments and international organizations are unprepared to manage the truly civilization-ending threats of nuclear weapons and climate change change,"

"The Bulletin said disinformation and conspiracy theories had worsened the threat of nuclear and environmental disaster, adding that online disinformation led to the US Capitol riots. "In 2020, online lying literally killed," scientists wrote."

That is not science but rather non sequitur, politically motivated talking points passed as a scientific conclusion. I can get any of that BS from the UK Guardian, CNN and MSNBC.
Yep
Politic of fear
Science of fear
Nothing your hear would make you think clearly, independently
Designed solely to create and emboldened neuroticism in the society, to get then awashed in mass hysteria and fear on narration of common strawmans
Everywhere, in every media, including tech news. Sad.

Nothing about this is enlightening at all
Infact, all follow the same mass subjugation method from the third reich
Propaganda
Rinse and Repeat

Kneel!
Schnell!!

The American conservatives won't rest till the US is a fascist Banana Republic, where a con-artist slum-lord billionaire daily convinces his pathetic base that he is one of them!

You forget, "Facism" is actually a product of socialism Mussolini came out of the Italian Socialist movement, and the "Nazi" party was originally called the "National Socialist German Workers Party". So I think your facism will be coming from the leftists currently in power.

As soon as Biden took office, we seem to have lost a few "seconds" on our doomsday clock... just sayin..

Typical Radical Right forgetfulness! The biggest network of Misinformation is your beloved FOX NEWS! No network on the planet has to post a disclaimer before their shows explaining that the show has Misinformation to its viewers. LOL

Oh, sorry, you seem to have gotten confused between Fox News and CNN (the Communist News Network). Allow me to correct that for you.

Hi there, donkey dung. We don't get Fox News in New Zealand. Buy, hey, if that is the case then at least Fox News puts a disclaimer before *its* shows. Has CNN and MSNBC been honest enough to do the same or are they still masquerading as being impartial and objective?
