Dual booting

We have a computer with 2 hard drives, the main drive has winxp pro.
We would like to put Win98 on the other hard drive and configure it to give a choice when booting up.
Any comments will be appreciated.

Welcome to TechSpot.

I hate to tell you, but that is NOT possible.
Operating systems from Microsoft must be installed in sequence: i.e. the oldest OS (in your case W98), must be installed first. With W98 this must happen on the first (master) HD in the first partition (C-drive).
Anywhere else it won't work.
When that is done, you can (re-)install XP on any other partition or harddisk, it will automatically create the bootmenu.

Unless you have an extremely valid reason for putting W98 back on, it is not worth all the hassle.
Install-sequence: W95/W98/W98SE/W2K/ME/XP/W2K3

I started out with XP and Windows wouldn't let me install WIN2000 from WinXP, but I managed to successfully install Win2k booting from the CD.
