Dvd rom reads as CD rom.

I just formatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows and when I did this it said windows found new hardware. Well after that I checked my dvd drive under my computer, it says its a cd drive and not a dvd drive. I have a NEC DVD RW ND 3500AG. Any help would be much aprecciated. Thank you

Windows is fickle....sometimes....

Have you installed (or reinstalled) any software yet to deal with DVDs? Sometimes Windows reads a drive as a CD if there are no Playback Codecs or DVD burning software installed.
