EA sets ambitious 100 million player goal for Battlefield 6 as development costs reach $400 million

-Against undeserved confidence, yes.

If a man is training hard to fight a tiger with his bare hands, talking smack, you wouldn't be "against confidence" for telling him his *** is going to get eaten alive.

EA wants to say "This is going to be the best and most successful battlefield yet!" Ok.

EA says "We're going to hit 100 million players!" No, you're not going to do that with the Battlefield franchise, don't kill DICE because of your ridiculous expectations.
The Dice I knew died long ago, but I still have hope. I lose nothing doing so. My expectations are reasonable.

Regardless, I'm not joining in on these rabid groups that never seem to go away. If bad predictions had consequences, the gaming community would be a much better place.
 
I think the success of games with fewer devs but high qulity (like expedition 33) stems from having a team that all know which direction and scale they want for the game. These massive projects with multiple studios are almost impossible to run with efficiency - not to mention with cohesion as studio culture will shape their snippet of the game development
