John Stewart Mill, a logician who advanced inductive reasoning, created "Mill's Methods" of agreement and difference. It is relatively easy to find facts that agree with a hypothesis, for example that the sun is a god because it rises from the dead every day, but such reasoning is not sound if you cannot show a fact that excludes any other possibility, a difference.
Elon Musk has been accused of tricking a female employee over to his massage table (was the table naturally nearby?) and offering her a horse (of all things, a horse) for sexual favors, and, upon meeting resistance to this incredible offer, Elon Musk apparently tried to sweeten the deal by exposing his Johnson. Although I take exception to the genius of offering a horse, I'm going to admit that exposing one's Johnson to the current girl of one's dreams is common.
Elon Musk counterclaims that he is being politically persecuted due to his intended acquisition of Twitter and his intention of supporting free speech on the platform, and he says that he has never faced such horse manure sexual allegations in his previous 30 years of business, a fact that allegedly makes a difference. Harvey Weinstein could equally argue that he was in business for over thirty years without being convicted of any sex crimes, but the rumors against him were nonetheless out there, and no such rumors have been circulating against Elon Musk, and so he may have a point.
Is political persecution for supporting free speech on Twitter a real possibility? From the Democrat side of the isle, virtually every male Republican nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court has been opposed on grounds of sexual harassment (I'm inclined to believe some of the allegations, but that is not my point, since I am looking at the Democrats' propensity to bring such allegations, true or not, for political reasons). Sexual allegations were made against Trump from both an undeniable audio recording of Trump saying that he used to 'grab 'em by the p*ssy,' and in the now debunked Steele Dossier saying that Trump let himself get peed on by two hookers in a hotel room in Russia. Julian Assange faced false rape charges from our ally Sweden.
The political motivation for such attacks against those persons is obvious, but what about supporting free speech makes Elon Musk a worthy target? In the abstract, nothing. However, Elon Musk recently stated that about 11 million Twitter accounts supporting President Joe Biden are fake accounts. With allegations of the Democrats stealing the last election still in the air, and proof of such coming out of state hearings in Arizona and elsewhere, Elon Musk touched a nerve.
I'm not saying that Elon Musk is innocent, but I am saying that even if he is guilty the motivation for this attack may indeed be political. I would also urge caution in assuming that he is guilty. That horse offer sounds like horse manure unless the lady in question truly pined for a pony.
