Environment Variables?

Hey everyone. Could anybody explain what the Environment Variables window is for? under My Computer->Advanced Tab, Environmental Variables.

Environment variables are a set of dynamic values that can affect the way running processes will behave on a computer. You can find out a lot with a wikipedia search or a plain ol Gurgle search.

Here's one:

Click on Start->Run-> %temp%

Your temp folder will open using this Environment Variable (%temp%)
You can delete everything in the Temp folder (that opens) too.
