Equalizer software for headsets (bass adjustment)

I just got a new headset and I like everything about it except the bass is too high, I was wondering if its possible to lower it through some kind of software or windows? I've searched but I can't find any good programs to adjust the bass of the headset.

The headset is the razer Carcharias stereo headset and I have it connected through a USB adapter although it has the option to connect through the 3.5mm jack.

Depending on what operating system you are using their should be an option in the control panel, under the sound section.

Hmm when I had my headphones connected through a USB adapter I couldn't find any kind of EQ in control panel, but when I connected it through the 3.5mm I found one. Thanks.
