eSATA - USB

I have just purchased an Icy box external HDD enclosure which is fitted with USB and a Esata connections.

Does any one know if both connections can be used at the same time?

E.g. Esata connection to main PC and the USB to a NAS server. If it does work is there any issues/risks with two users connecting to the hard drive at the same time?

The main reason for this is so I can use the speed of the Esata connection from my main PC and also use the NAS connection for any other laptops.

Cheers

I would not recommend doing that. You could get data corruption or failed reads or writes.

Those dual connection external hard drives are intended to allow you the flexibility to connect using one or the other (but not both at the same time).

I concur with above and my 2 cents worth is go with the Esata if you have an external esata port. And if you don't have a desktop get a card. I use one at work and one at home and have never had a problem.
