Exploere is Slow to Open

Explorer is Slow to Open

Hi All,

I have just run into a prob. My IE takes about 1min to open once i click on it. The internet speed works find once its running. The issue seems to be to start.

any ideas?

Things to try -

1.Go to Tools/Internet options/General and delete Temporary files and cookies.Reset homepage to about:blank.

2.Run a few antispyware scans in safe mode - http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml
with Ewido,Bit Defender,Trend Micro(online scan).etc Update them first.

3.Re-install IE - http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_ie_reinstall.htm

4.Use one of these in future - http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ or http://www.opera.com/ and
only use IE for Windows updates,if necessary.

reduce your Folder View options. If you allow show sizes, this thing eats time
with i/o and summations you really don't need.
