Failing 1TB WD Black

In our case here just ship it back to WD or send it back to where I get them from for exchange or money back if they're defective within 30 days with free UPS pickup at the door. Then WD warranty would kick in send it back at my cost via FedEx. Those of you outside the USA will have to follow the procedure for your Countries.

As I see you have a lot to send it back and WD should setup shop in your Countries or have a better system to handling the Warranty.

in my country, the Philippines, most consumer gadgets/devices/appliances have standard one year warranty.
outright replacement for defective units range from three days only to one week; after that period, the defective units are sent back to the merchandising authority.

lcd/led tv units have standard two years warranty, a better consumer protection started by Samsung (afaik, if I'm not mistaken). other tv manufacturers followed suit.
some computer monitors are marked 'standard 3 years warranty' on the packaging but resellers would honor one year warranty only. this '3-year warranty' is perhaps valid only if RMAed which is good only if the buyer lives in the big city but not if living in the smaller territories.
 
Computer monitors here well the ones I use from ACER are 3 years warranty. I do have 30 days if defective I can have USP or FedEx come and pick up this one I just got. But that's if it's defective. Here in the USA they want you to purchase additional warranty for HDTV, Major Appliances an etc. I don't do it.

Everything they sell here comes with 1 year in-house warranty on larger electronics and Major Appliances. During this time they offer extended warranty at a lower cost than what you get from online and B&M (brick and mortar (aka retail stores)

Smaller appliances and electronics are RMA # (must call them up first) are sent back to the company. This is how it's done here. There are some stuff that are only 90 days (3 months), but most of that's changing for 1 year. Outdoor Yard equipment from B&D (black and decker) has 2 years and some now have 4 years. Depends on what you buy.
