Found New Hardware Wizard won't install Sony DRU-840A 20x DVD±RW/RAM

My Found New Hardware Wizard won't install my Sony DRU-840A 20x DVD±RW/RAM. Instead it trys to install a printer. I'm running Windows XP. I 've read similar threads about this Found New Hardware Wizard problem however they didn't quite help with my problem. I have no other disc drive so I can't use an installation disc. Of course I know little about computers so its probably something I'm not doing correctly. Can any one help?

Did you set the jumper on the back of the drive to the appropriate setting? If it is the only device on the data cable it should be set to "master." If there is another device, one device should be master and the other "slave."
