Found new hardware wizard

I re installed my USB printer a few days ago and the printer works okay except that whenever I turn the printer on the “found new hardware” wizard appears. Short of turning off Plug and Play in MSCONFIG is there a way to stop this form occurring? I followed the wizard the first time it happened after installing the printer but it continues to appear.

Any help would be appreciated.

You could turn on your Printer first, then turn on the computer

USB connections, are just saying found new hardware (same as installing a flash drive) and continues to run

I dunno about that - I run my HP 4300 connected to USB and powered off all the time. When I want it, I hit the ON button and get the Safely Remove Hardware flag and that's it.
