China is the world's factory, the United States is only a part of the problem. All first world nations are turning the other cheek to China's labor practices. I'd argue that the United States is the only country currently and actively doing anything about the problem. You can buy shoes and socks and underwear in places other than China or third world slave countries. You pay a premium, but it is generally of higher quality, too.

Take care of your things and live within your means. We live in a society built around debt. People get to a point where they accumulate so much debt they have no choice but to buy the cheapest things available.


EDIT: Just realized you just made an account 30 minutes ago and your first post was defending China and insulting the United States. You also seem to know quite a bit about China. It isn't unheard of for the CCP to post propaganda on websites in other countries, so I have to wonder.....

It doesn't seem to be 14$ anywhere. Apparently it's $7.25 federally and $13 in California (which is the highest). In China it ranges between $1.5 and 3$ depending on the region, so US is not so far off. That is nominal, in terms of Purchasing Power the difference is quite smaller.

I would have to agree with their analysis, not only for the reasons mentioned but because China has such an abysmal record of theft of designs and other similar closely held information that they simply cannot be trusted. In my work I am entrusted with many "trade secrets" which I must find trustworthy fabricators, manufacturers, and software designers that will do the work and not expose the information. That is a very special relationship and China was once in a position to fulfill such requirements; but they threw that all away and as such, are no longer trustworthy by any company, nation, etc.

I am already looking forward to days where they will call us all racist oh nvm. I heard that they are already starting it but whatever, you get what you F deserve. Fits here I guess

You can't "divest" China no matter how hard you try because even if you switch over to India, you still end up having the exact same problems you had before - only now China continues to grow stronger across Southeast Asia and Africa as well as South America. China and India are strategic rivals. China and America are economic rivals.

You can't replace China with India or Brazil. Those people don't have the same approach, dedication and organization when it comes to work. Now, Vietnam might be a good location. They have that East-Asian mindset. But India or Brazil... that would be a mistake.
