Front jack balance problem

When the balance is centered in volume control, I can hear the music part of an mp3 but the vocals/lyrics are low. Lyrics can be heard if the balance is only right or only left.

Also, the sound comes out of both speakers. Even when I alter the balance to play right or left only.

I recently reseated my wires on the motherboard and it seems to have corrected the problem.
