Game Hosting Servers (Halo)

I want to host a game of halo so others can join but I control map cycles etc.

I understand that you can buy hosting from game servers, but I am not sure how to do it or how it all works, maybe someone can give an overview in plain english and provide a link to a server hosting service of some repute.

I think my curiosity is better spent familiarizing myself with it again for an hour.
