Go for the x1800xt or wait?!?

Hey guys, I plan on building a new gaming system soon and by the time I start buying parts the radeon x1800xt will be out. I was wondering where I could find any news as to when nvidia will release their next card to counter the x1k series.

a si understand it said card was meant to compete head-to head with nvidia's 7800GTX, which has been out for months now.

hmm..well if that's the case...I read something a few days ago talking about an overclocker got the x1800xt to out perform 2 7800gt (don't remember if it was gtx =/ ) in sli.
