i installed a brand new asrock 1333 full hd board this morning into the case, it booted up okay and then when vista got onto the loading screen it cut out.
i then read that i need to reinstall vista.
the problem is, i am using vista business upgrade from xp.
i then put the vista disc in and tried loading up from that but again it got stuck at the same loading screen.
i am using onboard graphics here for the moment.
in bios i selected share 512mb's of ram for the graphics.
then it loaded up and i got a bsod, didnt give me any codes unfortunately.
i then changed the shared memory to 256 and then i loaded up and it froze on the loading screen again.

will i have to do a full reinstall of xp and then upgrade to vista to sort this out?
Many Thanks
Joe

Joe, I was thinking the same thing: Install XP first and then Vista.

Do you have a video card? I was wondering what would happen if you diasbled the onboard video and went with a video card.

unfortunatley i dont have a pcie card handy :(
im moving up from agp cards you see.
its hard to get a good one for a low price
ebay i guess
