Hard disk damage

Hey could a combo drive may damage a hard disk if it has't been installed properly????It happened with me last week that i installed a new combo drive in my system and after thet my hard disk was't responding properly....

Can you give a little more information? Is the drive not showing up in windows? Is it just slow performance? Is the new drive on the same channel as the drive that is having problems?

No it can't damage a hard drive unless you dropped the thing on the hard drive while the hd was spinning.

Only other thing would be if you didn't pay attention to jumper settings, but that doesn't damage anything, just keeps things from working properly if at all.
