ok, I've made some links to searches on my desktop and upon executing the .fnd file my desktop freezes...
explorer starts consuming all available resources and hangs..
what to do???

-windows 2003-

this is the greatest feature of the operating system (although M$ could've made it a lot better and easier to do without actually having to hit the search button) wwwwhyy is it not working?!...

Could the registry entry referring to the search have become corrupted? I can't think of anything else it could be.

* Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
* Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ Directory\ shell\ find\ ddeexec.
* Double-click on (Default), and replace the value with "[FindFolder("C:\", C:\)]" (or whatever directory you wish).

ok before anything.. what does this entry signify??

currently "[FindFolder("%l", %I)]" is the data under the ddeexec key

yes yes, I see.. But, what does changing the key to [FindFolder("C:\", C:\)] do... I have more partitions than just C: alone
