no i tried to connect external screen the same no picture.

Probably related to some form of motherboard/video card failure then.

it works with an external screen..i tried it myself coz i have the same problem with the laptop screen & when i asked about it they said this problem is almost in all the satellite series ....just click the screen and when u see graphics options switch from notebook to monitor and it will work.
