Help! I cannot remove trojan muquest from my computer

Hi,

I am running Norton Antivirus and it says it's found Trojan muquest on my computer. However, it cannot delete it. It says it does and it reappears again. I followed the instructions they give on their website (shutting off windows recovery, updating virusdefinitions, scanning, deleting files, etc...), but it's still there. Any ideas?

Tried that...

Yep, I've done all that. Followed all the instructions on the symantec page (I do have Norton on that computer), but it doesn't seem to be removed. My computer is still acting extra-slow, especiall for some programs like MSN messenger.

Don't know what to do. lol

Try some of the (free) online scanners, like McAfee Stinger, Trend Micro, Panda, etc.

you did turn off system restore before cleaning?

Yep

Did turn off the system restore... I will try another anti-virus program. Maybe that will do the trick.

Try using Eset's NOD32. It will probably remove the Trojan safely and effectively.

Muquest virus comes under two flavors (A & B)

most anti-virus scanners should remove it.
