Help! need help on connecting 2 wireless routers

hi, i just wanting some help on connecting my 2 routers together and heres what i got:

i have the main wireless router in my bedroom with the modem on it and i have 2 desktops(1 in living room other in spareroom) using wireless and 1 laptop, the router in the bedroom is a linksys...but anyways i got a netgear router im trying to hook up to the other router(this is basically cause my wireless usb adapter(netgear) is picking up the signal very slow says full but its not(in spare room)) i would just like to hook up the linksys to the netgear wired and just hook up my 360 through one of the lan ports in the spare room(netgear) i have read some other threads but everything i try dont seem to work....some1 plz hlp me! thx!...or just some other suggestions would be helpful

here's one layout

modem--router#1 --- router#2

Use wired connections for all the above and place your wireless router at #2, but
turn DHCP OFF, encryption ON. The cable from #1 comes from a LAN port and
goes to router #2 also on a LAN port (ie leave the #2 WAN port empty).

Your xbox attaches to #1 as a wired connection.
