I have an emachine T2482. The CPU says CD-RW and DVD does that mean my computer is not set up to burn a DVD??

If you only have a CD-RW and a DVD drive, then no you can not burn DVDs, only play them.

You need to have a DVD-RW drive in order to burn DVDs.
